When you have insomnia, you’re never really asleep, and you’re never really awake.
~ Fight Club, based on Chuck Palahniuk's novel
So I'm really good at sleeping ... out before I hit the pillow kind of good, BUT for nearly two years, approximately three to four times a year, I'd find myself unable to sleep, for the whole night. Not the way kids say they couldn't sleep, when in fact, they sleep so deeply they didn't realise they were sleeping, I mean redecorate the house, bake cookies, do paperwork kind of awake.
As health and fitness coaches, we've come across clients suffering with insomnia, new mothers, power executives, the anxious, the jet lagged and we've worked on solutions.
My brief insomniac experiences rendered me incapacitated. Brain function down at least 70%; physical capabilities greatly impaired, the only thing that seemed to remain unscathed? Creativity, but with diminished judgment, who really knows.
Sleep is everything, like love. Without it we can not function as human beings. You'll find, in our blog posts, scientific research, first person experiences, evidence showing why without it, you are not living your best life and of course, bio hacks to make the most of the hours you do manage to capture. Strategic sleeps that work with your body clock and ways to train it to work for you.
Our team vary in their sleep needs and wants, we wanted to understand as many variants as possible and to asses which products work on different personality types and different lifestyle regimes. One thing is for sure, we all need it. We're happy to be here, offering some crazy good, natural solutions.
❝ Sleep is that golden chain that ties health and our bodies together. ❞
